Blog #4

Dear Blogger.com,
Today's entry is a short one.  Have you ever had one of those days you just didn't feel like doing anything?  That was my today.  Although our vet did have a surprise when we took our dog in for his check-up.  I guess he must have been nervous, because he started to pee...then do a barrel roll...while peeing.  Imagine a little beagle rolling on his back, then a stream of pee just spraying from him.  Ohmygosh.  It was just everywhere!  Ugh.  I will forever be scarred.  So aside from a peeing barrel roll, my day was pretty normal.  Well, I guess there was the random scream from down in the basement.  I'm too afraid to go down and see what it was.  I have been assured that it was just the house settling, but I didn't know houses yelled while settling.  So I have a friend who has been writing blogs for awhile.  She has two.  One that is a fictional story (which sometimes relates to what happens in her real life), and another where she talks about things that are on her mind.  Not just anything though, meaningful things.  I honestly don't know any other way to describe it, I could try but I wouldn't do it any justice.  But I really enjoy reading what she writes, and it kinda makes me think about what I'm writing.  She's writing these deep and meaningful posts, and mine are kind of just stupid things that happen.  I realized they reflect how we are in real life.  She's always thought things through before doing them, and I've kind of just done whatever and been stupid.  We really are quite different, but I think we balance each other out.  So my question I have is this: Take a look at your friends, and the diversity between you all.  Do you see how you balance each other out?  It's something that seems to be in every group of friends.  Lesson of blog #4: Stay out of the way of a peeing dog.  He may barrel roll.
Until next time,

Blog #3

Dear Blogger.com,
I attempted at sleeping in today but, as usual, my mom made me get up.  It was the first day my little brother had basketball camp, and we apparently had some errands to run.  This consisted of going to buy me new bathing suits, and picking up a carpet for out outdoor deck.  Now.  This wouldn't have been so bad, but while I was picking out a bathing suit, a lady came into the store with just leggings, and a sports bra.  Don't get me wrong, it was hot out today, and people can wear whatever they want.  But as she turned a corner, a small boy's face was squished right into her stomach!  That poor child will never be the same.  It was like he was moving in slow motion, as his poor little face was squished into the woman's layers of skin... Well, after that we headed over to pick up the carpet.  I was sitting in our truck, waiting for them to load it it when something started sliding along my arm. Thinking it was a bug or snake of some sort, I freaked out!  Both my arms shot into the air and I slammed myself into the truck door.  Only then did I realize that the snake was actually the carpet.  It was too big to fit in the back and had to be pushed up front for more room.  Everyone was staring at me, as I tried to act like nothing had happened.  After dinner my brother and I decided to go swimming.  Where we live there are a lot of trees between us and out neighbors.  I guess our neighbors were outside, because we started to hear screaming.  My brother then started to try and out-do their screams.  It turned into a screaming match!  That is until my mom yelled out the window for us to shut up.  I swear our neighbors were laughing at us from across the trees.  Today was also the first day I've had texting.  Yeah, I know. "What kind of teenager doesn't have texting?" My dad calls himself the caveman because he doesn't really do the whole electronic thing.  You can imagine my excitement when I received a text saying it was hooked up and ready to go!  Now my phone won't stop vibrating, and I'm trying to read...seems a bit backwards doesn't it?  Oh well.  That's my life, and I love where I am.
Until next time,

Blog #2

Dear Blogger.com,
I can't say today was a very exciting day.  It seemed to be one of those lazy Sundays...until my family decided to bust out the grill.  Mine and my brother's fascination with fire seemed to kick in as soon as the first flame was lit.  We immediately ran to the woods to go pick a branch with leaves.  Carefully placing each leaf on the coal, we set them ablaze.  I felt like I was in a trance as the fire became larger and eventually engulfed all the leaves in one big swoosh.  The embers flew out of the grill and a few got caught in my hair.  I then frantically searched for water to put out the hot embers that were attacking me.  After what seemed like minutes, but was only seconds, I realized that there was in fact no fire in my hair.  I had gone crazy over my own hair...yes, I am a ginger.  What really puzzled me was the fact that my hair doesn't even resemble fire.  It's way too light for me to have made that mix up.  I felt absolutely stupid as I slumped back into the house.  While talking to my friend Rachel (while playing on a play set), we were discussing dreams we'd had.  My dream consisted of a scientist trying to make teenagers evolve backwards, then setting them loose throughout the country.  When I woke up, I was too afraid to let my dog go outside by himself, in fear that he would be taken away by the teenagers...  Rachel's was about her being hurt, then rescued by the same person.  All along the way the I was there saying the most ridiculous things!  My mother had had a dream last night about being stuck in a swamp where the car wouldn't start.  What I've been trying to figure out, is why in each of our dreams, we have a hard time seeing.  I thought I was the only one to have that problem sometimes, where I know what's happening, but I can't see it.  Or I only see part of it.  This got me thinking... maybe we only see part of our dreams because we share them with someone else.  Wouldn't that be creepy?  You see part of the dream, and someone else sees the rest?  Spooky.  So, lesson of blog 2:  Don't play with fire, you will either end up getting burned, or freaking out because you think you're getting burned.  Even with the fire attack, I still love where I am.  So, what do you think?  Why can we only see part of our dreams sometimes?
Until next time,

First Post

Well, I will be the first to admit that I'm new at this whole blogging thing.  I named my blog "Loving Where We Are" because that's how I look at life.  I love where I am.  I've decided to make this into more of a diary rather than making a bunch of posts about some fantasy me.  My life feels so normal to me, but that's just because I'm used to it.  I am going to be posting the stupid stuff that happens in my life, all real, just for the fun of it.  So, here's my first entry into my online diary...

Dear Blogger.com,
Today I thought it would be a good idea to try and do a headstand.  This wouldn't have been a problem, had I not also thought it would be a good idea to try and balance my cat up on my feet while doing so.  Once I had my head on the ground and the cat in the air, there was no turning back.  Needless to say, my cat wasn't all that happy with me.  She sank her claws into my legs and clung to me like a scared lizard to a tree trunk.  The pain I endured was...well, painful.  Luckily, my family was at a baseball game my younger brother was playing at, so the only spectators for this were my two dogs.  I swear that they were laughing at me when I went to come out of the headstand and ended up flinging my cat across the room.  She somehow managed to land on our couch, shook her head, and seemed to glare at me.  All I could do was give her a little half-smile and say my apologies.   A little while later, a Fed Ex truck came down our driveway.  My house is down a long driveway, where you can't even see the street.  After about ten minutes of my dog barking out the window, I looked outside to see that the truck had not yet left.  Going into panic mode, I locked all the doors and looked out every window to try and find the man, as I could see he was not in his truck.  After checking out the window of our garage, I tip toed back inside to hear something moving around inside.  I then proceeded to grab the closest metal object (some sort of tool?) and ran into my living room to scare my dog so badly he started crying.  Lesson of blog 1:  Don't try to balance a cat on your feet while standing on your head...ever.  No matter HOW fun it sounds. Oh, and when a Fed Ex truck doesn't leave your house for a little while, he's just rearranging his boxes.  Not trying to get into your house...  None the less, I am loving where I am!  Life couldn't be better!
Until next time,
